I mentioned a couple of weeks ago about Rodan + Fields releasing a brand new product on October 1st. Here we are, just a few short days away from getting our hands on this amazing product!
I wanted to share with you a photo of Carla, who uses Reverse Lighting to help with pigmentation and in the above photo she is also using the newest product, Radiant Defense. I can’t get over how flawless her face looks. The pigmentation looks amazing, she has a dewy glow that isn’t oily looking, and I have to admit, she looks younger! She is absolutely beautiful in both pictures but the After photo really shows how well Radiant Defense gives you the perfect glow!
There are six beautiful shades available. Shell, Beige, Sand, Golden, Almond and Espresso. Curious what your shade is? You can find out right from your computer screen here.
Radiance Defense is not a BB Cream, or a CC Cream, or a foundation. It’s a Dermacosmetic. A tint that can be worn as the last step of your skincare routine and provides amazing benefits such as protection against the environment, as well as helping the skin with its own natural moisture barrier to protect against dry and stressed skin. It also has a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
This product is perfect on those make-up free days when you still look “put together” and flawless yet without the weight of foundation.
If you are ready to be part of the Glow Nation and want to be among the first to try Radiant Defense, comment below or send me a message!
If feels like it’s been raining for years here in Kentucky! In reality, it started Saturday night and only stops for a short period of time then rains again! (It’s Tuesday) Years!!! So, what’s a girl to do on a rainy day? Shop online!!! One of my favorite places to shop is Stella & Dot. I’m seriously obsessed. To be honest, I’m not a huge jewelry-wearer. My wedding ring and bracelet is what I wear on most days but I love to wear beautiful jewelry time to time. The jewelry pieces on Stella & Dot’s website really do compliment any kind of outfit for any season. And with their new arrivals for Fall, I can spend hours going through each section and pick out items for my wish list. I may have to put the names of what I select in a basket and draw out one or two from each category and splurge! Hmmm…sounds good to me! Below are just a few favorites I’ve selected so far.
Check out this beautiful engravable Hexagon Necklace! With a mother-of-pearl background, this really pops against a dark or bright colored shirt! Should I engrave Kimberly? Or maybe a monogram? Or maybe the words, Dream Big? Hmmmmm….So many choices!
I LOVE wraparound bracelets! They are so trendy right now and this Yves Wrap Bracelet has a gorgeous bronze finish! This would look adorable with a casual outfit or when you are wear a business-casual outfit. So many options on how this can be worn!
So you thought Stella & Dot only sold jewelry? NOPE! They have an assortment of stylish clothes and handbags as well! Camo is really popular right now in jeans and shirts. I’m loving this Zip Pullover. The color is neutral and can be worn with blue or black jeans or leggings for comfortable wear on days when it’s, you know….raining!
As you are considering your Fall or Winter wardrobe, check out Stella & Dot’s apparel as well as accessories to coordinate any OOTD!
What’s your favorite piece of everyday jewelry that you wear?
**I am not a medical professional. The following post is based on my personal experience and insight gained from wellness professionals.**
Okay, now that we have the legal stuff out of the way, let’s get into what has become a controversial topic, Intermittent Fasting, or IF.
I first heard of IF last year when I started my most favorite online bootcamp, FASTer Way To Fat Loss. I wasn’t quite sure what it was but quickly learned it was a method of “fasting” that I could absolutely do without any issues.
There are many different ways someone can incorporate IF. For the purpose of this post, I’m going to share with you the FWTFL way.
You choose a window of 8 hours to eat and for 16 hours , you don’t eat. I happened to choose to eat from Noon – 8:00 pm each day. I would stop eating at 8:00 pm and then eat again the next day beginning at Noon. This way worked well for me because I don’t enjoy eating too soon after waking up. I normally didn’t start to eat until 10:30 or 11:00 am anyway so by waiting 60-90 minutes, it wasn’t a big deal at all. I could see how it may be a problem for someone who is used to eating every morning at 7:00 or 8:00 and your body would need to adjust to the new eating times.
I’ve been IF’ing for well over a year and didn’t seem to have any issues at all. However, I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was advised to stop doing IF, at least for the time being. While I’m disappointed that I need to do that, I understand it’s for my long-term health, which I haven’t always been too concerned with.
Let me stop to say something right now. Intermittent Fasting DID NOT cause me to have hypothyroidism. Poor dieting decisions and eating habits caused it. Lose weight fast tactics that were extremely unhealthy caused it. To be honest, IF may have kept my thyroid issues from being worse than they actually are.
Most healthy people should be fine with incorporating IF into their daily lifestyle or however they choose to do IF. There are many benefits to incorporate IF into you life. These include:
I do it. Probably more often than I like to admit. And I would guess that you may have done it yourself. Maybe you still do. May I be so bold and tell you, dear sister….Stop. Stop comparing yourself to someone else. (I’m also telling myself that as well.)
As Teddy Roosevelt once said, “comparison is the thief of joy.” We think we will be happy and have joy if we had a body that looked like hers. We think we will be happy and have joy if our children were as well-behaved as hers. We think we will be happy and have joy if our marriages were strong and healthy like theirs. If our hair color was different, if we drove a different car, lived in a bigger house, had a bigger checking account. On and on and on.
All this comparing and wishing steals the joy right from our souls. We are too worried about what others have, that we don’t even realize the beauty and love and skills that we have in ourselves and in our own lives.
So, all this sounds good, right? Stop comparing myself to others. Easier said than done. Yep, maybe so. But it doesn’t have to be so hard. Like a bad habit, comparison is also a bad habit. If we are always thinking the wrong way, we will believe the wrong things.
I follow Jesus Christ and in doing so, when I am faced with tempting or difficult situations, I go to the Word. This is where I find my strength and where I find answers to difficult questions. Galatians 6:4-5 says “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”
If we stop comparing ourselves to others and work on ourselves, we can celebrate the victory of a job well done when we accomplish our goals. We may not get what we want overnight. It may take time. And sometimes, we may never get what we want. Let’s be realistic. But also, let’s dream! There is nothing wrong with dreaming big! I absolutely believe in that. But I also am a realist and understand that to accomplish those big dreams will take a long time and along the way there may be some hills and valleys that will slow me down. I may want to quit. If I do, those dreams won’t be realized. But if I push through…I can succeed. With Jesus as my guide and my faith in him to see me through all the challenges I will face, I put my trust in him. But….I also realize I have to do some work, too.
Step One: When I am tempted by someone else, I will remind myself that we are two separate individuals with completely different circumstances. I don’t know her story. She doesn’t know mine. I will do the best I can.
Step Two: Work on my goals. Write them down and put action behind them. I want my business to grow. I can’t make a social media post, shut the computer down and think, “Okay God. Bring them to me.” God is NOT a genie in a bottle that is going to grant you three wishes. You better WORK! Same with fitness and losing weight. I can’t go to the gym and on my way home stop to get a Big Mac. It doesn’t quite work that way.
Step Three: Get a support group. There is nothing like having a tribe to support you in your efforts. This can be a family member, a group of girlfriends, or just writing your accomplishments online. There is something magical about writing your goal down and then being able to say you accomplished it. But people have to know what your goal is. Share it with others.
Step Four: Which really should be step one. I know that not all my readers are Christians. But if you are, you know there is power in prayer. I always pray for guidance and discernment. There are so many directions that I am being pulled in each and every day and I know you are, too. I can’t possibly say yes to everything I want to do so I ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit so I can be guided into making the right decisions.
We are all worthy. We are all beautiful. We are all magnificent. In our own individual way. Let’s go out into the world this week and SHINE!

My absolute favorite time of the year is starting TODAY! After going through a couple of weeks of allergies (thank you Ragweed!), I am able to enjoy the first official day of Fall!
Some people call it Autumn but honestly, I have never heard anyone refer to this time of year as Autumn in real life. I live in the South, or Midwest, or Central U.S., depending on who you talk to. Kentucky is one of those states where we don’t know exactly which side of the Mason-Dixon line we are on but I like to think of us as South. And in the South, we call it Fall. So there. It’s Fall, Y’All!
Why do I love Fall? Oh…let me count the ways. Pumpkin spice and everything nice? Pumpkin spice is most certainly one reason. And shame on Starbucks for starting to sell Pumpkin Spice Latte before the official season began. I love Pumpkin Spice. But only beginning on the First Day of Fall. Bring on pumpkin everything!!!
Another reason I love Fall? Because….sports! I love Football. Fall. Football. See, they just go together. Like a chunky scarf and boots. And since football starts in the Fall, well….I like it. Go Colts! Go OSU! Go U.K.! (Yes, I’m allowed to cheer for two college football teams). With football comes tailgating! Who doesn’t like a good tailgating event?! Another sport that is especially fun in Kentucky is horse racing. Keeneland’s Fall Meet is a blast! And there is tailgating there, too! It’s just THE thing to do in the Fall and it’s an absolute blast! Not to mention bonfires and crisp, cool evenings. So much fun!
And probably my favorite reason why I love Fall so much! Fall Fashion is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! Who doesn’t like an oversized scarf, paired with a cute sweater, holey jeans, and the cutest boots you’ve ever seen?? Like seriously!? Not to mention the oversized hangbag to hold your oversized scarf when you are indoors and need your neck to breathe. Pair the outfit with a messy ponytail, large earrings, dangling necklace, and a small sleeve of bracelets….well…..you cannot go wrong!
The outfit posted above is my favorite style for September and early October in Kentucky. Since it’s still too warm for scarves, a cute off-the-shoulder, long sleeved top provides the perfect look, especially when worn with a cute pair of open-toed chunky heeled booties. Grab your large handbag and a cup of Starbucks and you are ready to take on the world!
You can find this really cute shirt at Roawe. The price is absolutely incredible. Sizes come in XS-XL. Shipping can take a minute so order soon.
And if you are looking for the perfect accessories to go with this adorable shirt, check out Stella & Dot! Now until September 24th, Stella & Dot is offering a BOGO! Buy one necklace and get one for 25% off!!! There are so many designs to choose from that would go perfectly with this outfit or any outfit in your fall wardrobe. Don’t forget to pick up a bracelet or 4 while you’re at it!

Each Friday my plan is to share my favorite item of the week with you.
This week it just so happens that I received my very first Erin Condren planner!! This planner has been my daughter’s favorite and I’ve bought her one every year that she has requested but I’ve always stuck to a more budget-friendly planner such as The Happy Planner. This year, I decided to splurge.
I have anticipating this planner all week and when I opened the gorgeous box that it was delivered in, I was not disappointed.
There were several “freebies” such as note cards, gift cards, and what I would call book marks. AND there were discount codes for future orders. (Hint: read below for a special 10% off discount for all my readers!)
When I ordered my planner, I also purchased some additional accessories. These include a pen holder, a 6-pack of pastel colored pens (I like to color-code!), a wellness dashboard – which is a dry-erase page, and a magnetic page divider. When you purchase 4 accessories, you get an additional 15% off. I love saving money, yo!
I am born to be an organizer and planner and this planner absolutely makes me happy, happy, happy!!! I can’t wait to start filling in all the pages and even coloring in the adult coloring pages that are included in the planner!
